Are you desirous of creating a website or blog with own domain name? It is the ripe time. After a long time, registering the free .com.np domain name has been employed again in a satisfying manner so as to provide easy and secured acquaintances to the users. Now, you will be able to register .com.np or other extensions ccTLD without any hassles.
Before some months, there was an issue that the website of official .np registrar (Mercantile Communication) was non-reactive. I was also a victim of that. Whenever I submitted the online form, the registrar's website used to blink only, without any response. But now, fixing those errors on its website, Mercantile Communication has come up with a new and neat website interface with some added features. Whois Lookup, domain search, and user login options are the additional features added to its previous website.

About .com.np domain name
Before entering to the topic, let's be familiar with the term ccTLD. ccTLD stands for country code Top Level Domain. It is different from country to country such as .np for Nepal, .in for India, .pk for Pakistan and much more. In Nepal, .np registration is carried out along with secondary extensions such as .com.np, .org.np, .gov.np (for governmental offices) and many other secondary extensions, you can know them here. Also, .np domain registration is free for all the Nepali citizens and also for the registered company in Nepal. Note that personal domain name must be same as the name mentioned on Nepalese citizenship or passport or voter's card.
Additionally, it is a first-come-first-serve basis, that is, if a Nepali citizen having the same name (as yours) already registered the .np domain, you will not be able to register that domain. So hurry up! Before someone grabs your dream domain name.

Setting-up .com.np domain on Blogger
How to set up .np domain on Blogger? Setting up .np in Blogger is easy and free. The first thing you have to do is finding a free DNS provider as I have already mentioned in Step 6. There are lots of free DNS providers but, I personally prefer Namecheap's free DNS.
Note: You should insert the nameservers before you submit your .np domain request to register.com.np. If your domain is already available, you may sign up for Namecheap to get your nameservers as discussed in the steps below.

1. Get DNS
To host your .np domain with Namecheap DNS, first of all, you have to enter two nameservers (on register.com.np) that point to the Namecheap's server. To do this, go to Namecheap's free DNS service through this link. Enter your domain in the Domain box and hit 'Get DNS'.
In the next screen, you will see a signup message. Create an account using your email address. After creating an account, you will see a free cart for your DNS. Just navigate to Cart > Set up DNS. Finally, you will see a list of 5 nameservers.
2. Fill Nameservers
Among 5 nameservers, what you require is only two nameservers. So, copy only two nameservers neglecting other three.
Move back to register.com.np and fill one on primary nameserver and another on secondary nameserver and hit save. It may take some time for your domain to point Namecheap's nameserver (It will automatically happen as soon as your domain is approved by register.com.np). You will be notified in Namecheap's dashboard, once your domain points to Namecheap's server.

3. Setting up on Blogger
Now, I assume your .np domain registration process has been finalized.
Go to blogger.com and choose a blog (from Blogger dashboard) where you want to register a custom .com.np domain name.
Now, Go to Dashboard > Settings > Basic > Publishing > set-up third-party domains.
Enter your .com.np domain name inside the domain box. Don't forget to include www in front of domain name e.g. www.yourdomain.com.np. Select 'Use a missing files host' as 'No' and hit save.
On the next screen, you will see an error message with two CNAME records as shown in the screenshot below:

You have to fill those CNAME records to Namecheap server. So, go to your Namecheap's dashboard > Manage > Advanced DNS > Add New Record > CNAME Record.
4. Setting CNAME Record
Setting up CNAME records is easy. Add 'www' in host field and 'ghs.google.com' in value. Set TTL to Automatic and hit save.
Similarly, go to Add New Record > CNAME Record and add another CNAME record (censored part of the above screenshot) and hit save. Here is a final screenshot.

5. Adding A records
Adding A records is not hard either. Just go to Add New Record > A Record. Enter '@' in Host, '
216.239.32.21' in Value and set TTL to automatic. Similarly, add 3 other IP addresses one by one:
Set '@' in the host field for each of them. Finally, hit save. Here is the final screenshot for what I had done.
After you fill the CNAME and A records in Namecheap, move back to Blogger and save your CNAME settings.216.239.32.21' in Value and set TTL to automatic. Similarly, add 3 other IP addresses one by one:
- 216.239.34.21
- 216.239.36.21
- 216.239.38.21
It may take some time to appear your blog on the internet. And at last, don't forget to redirect your naked domain (without www) into your domain by selecting the ticker at edit option (at the right side of your domain) in Blogger. It helps to redirect blog traffic from the naked domain to your blog. Here is an official Namecheap's guide to set up the domain in Blogger.
That was that. The last thing you will want to do is to check your brand new blog with .np domain name. Happy Blogging!
